Putting everything together, this fan-made mod is considerably more expansive than any of the Fallout: New Vegas DLC campaigns had been in the past, which just goes to show the extent that the fan community can take a project. In addition to the larger modifications, The Frontier will also bring a whole host of new environmental effects, like snow, fog, and rain, which have appeared in other Fallout titles, but had never appeared in the Mojave wastes.

There will also be several new additions below the surface level, such as new SFX attached to the new weapons and smaller details that help bring the new environments to life. Along with the new location and the extended fanfic for players to trek for hours through, The Frontier Team has also added 150 new weapons to discover and mess with.

This mod will include three main storylines for players to follow in the all-new wastelands of Portland, Oregon, which can total over 15 hours altogether. In the case of The Frontier as a whole, this mod is much more than the average quality of life overhaul or the simple addition of a handful of new weapons to the ten-year-old Fallout: New Vegas. The modders working on the Frontier mod, known as The Frontier Team, have launched an official Steam page for the upcoming mod that connects directly to the page for Fallout: New Vegas. One of the highest priorities of these mods in recent years is the Frontier mod announced in 2016, which has now made a huge step forward towards a full release.

Even a full decade after its initial release, fans are still hard at work modding Fallout: New Vegas.
